The Middle East and North Africa Research Group at Western University (MENARG) is an interdisciplinary academic institute that focuses on the new scholarly and scientific research projects and publications by leading specialists in the fields impacting the knowledge of the MENA region.
Through our discussions we promote high standards professional exchange of scholarship, cooperation and comparative context, and encourage public understanding of the region and its peoples including the Middle East, Southwest Asia, the Arab world, and North Africa.
Past subjects extended to research projects, ranging from history to current politics, from classical Islamic law to social studies, from linguistics and religion to anthropology, economics and medicine, with guest speakers ranging from Western’s own faculty, to leading scholars from across Canada and beyond.
